On Monday, I anticipated hitting up Kite and Key for Founders’ F*CK event and enjoying the Kentucky Breakfast Stout, which I only had a sip of last year. I took for granted that other people are prioritizing Beer Week as well. So, imagine my surprise and disappointment walking into K&K and seeing a bar 4-people deep just a few minutes after the official start of the event. Was I that committed to this beer? No. I was not. So, I retreated to McCrossen’s for the Sierra Nevada event. Jesse, the super nice bartender and organizer of the cool events happening at McCs, kindly gave me his seat. I went with the Ovila (7.5% ABV) because it was a draft I haven’t had.
I don’t think I gave this a fair chance simply because I noticed that there were some Stoudt’s taps still on from the afternoon event. Malty and smooth. Shrug.
